Pizza Time!

One of my kids favorite things is my home made pizza.

Which means waking up early to make the dough so it can rise while I’m at the day job.

Is it worth the effort, you ask?

First of all, there is nothing better than coming home to the smell of dough…aahhh….yeast… Then, there is the whole experience of rolling out the dough, adding the sauce and cheese, doing it together and then seeing the smile on their faces.

Here’s my pizza dough recipe:

In the mixer add: 3.5 cups of flour, 1/4 cup olive oil, a little salt, a little basil. Have your yeast ready to go, dissolved first in a bit of warm water with a pinch of sugar, then ultimately you’ll need at least 1 cup of warm water mixed. add it slowly to the flour, mix up until it forms a nice ball. Knead it for a minute and toss it into a bowl coated with olive oil. Let it rise in a slightly warm over.

That’s it. Easy peasy.

What meal do you make that your kids clamor for?
