Surrender to the Sheriff -- Coming soon

Time Travel Novella

She's making plans…

Having been raised by her eccentric grandmother, Lillian Bennett prefers a life where she controls all the details and remains out of the spotlight. So when the terms of her grandmother's will require her to spend a night in her inherited ghost town, it's just another appointment on a calendar. Right until she walks through the saloon doors and finds herself a hostage on the streets of 1851 Prosperity Creek!

He's making promises…

Wanting more than his outlaw life, Sam Harden promises to change his ways and take on the gold mining town of Prosperity Creek as its new sheriff.  For a man who'd never made a promise before, being bound to uphold the law and do right by a woman might prove to be too much for an outlaw at heart when there's gold at stake.

Is there a future in the past?

Trapped in 1851 and falling for a man she knows will die over a gold dispute, is it possible for Lilly to earn her inheritance and change the sheriff's fate in the process?

Lilly might have to surrender to the Sheriff to find out!

Concern etched the lines around his mouth while his forefinger hooked under her chin and lifted it so he could look directly into her eyes. "Don't worry about you? Lilly, now you're talking nonsense. Next time, when I tell you to stay away from town, I expect you will listen."

His smooth honey voice penetrated her fear; hot blood rushed to her neck and cheeks. Without a doubt, there was safety in the arms of this powerful man. From the strong jaw to the well-muscled chest and arms, he commanded respect and attention, even without the gun strapped to his thigh. What else could she do but nod?

Piano music filtered out into the street and a man on horseback rode between the sheriff's back and the Faded Lady Saloon. She wanted to get in her car and drive away from this crazy town as fast as her little Camry would take her. Too bad, her car had disappeared and Prosperity was now anything but the ghost town at which she'd arrived.

The saloon doors swung open and closed as people came and went, barely giving her a second glance, as if this sort of thing happened all the time. Did the Faded Lady hold the answer? If she walked back through those swinging doors, would this all be gone?

Sam Harden's finger was still under her chin. His thumb rubbed along the side of her mouth, pulling her thoughts back to him. “Lilly, I need more than a nod. Say it and maybe I’ll believe you this time.”
His deep voice and dark eyes demanded an answer.

Again, all she could do was nod.

Waves of golden brown hair spilled from under the brim of his hat. Warmth filled his gaze and she sucked in a ragged breath at the realization he was going to kiss her. His arm encircled her waist and he pulled her to his chest while his lips captured hers. Light and sweet, his lips danced along hers. Passion simmered just below the surface; she was sure of it.

Unable to stop herself, she let the tips of her fingers run along the muscles of his arms, across his wide shoulders to the edge of his neck. Rugged and sinewy, just as she expected.

Sam's fingers threaded through the hair at the base of her neck. Hot goose bumps peppered her skin everywhere he touched. His lips left her mouth to glide along her jaw on the way to her ear.

"I can't change this town without you," he whispered.
