Happy New Year!
Welcome to a New Year!
So far the new year has been cold and filled with way too much snow and ice for my liking. While I huddle at my desk in my favorite robe with my fingers wrapped around my warm cup of coffee I think about spring and the warmer weather, all the things I'd like to accomplish this year and I also find myself amazed at how fast the past year went.
In 2009 I co-founded Dunes & Dreams Romance Writers, an Eastern Long Island Chapter of the RWA with two of the best writing friends a girl could ask for (Gina Ardito and Candace Gold.) A true labor of love, we've grown in 12 short months from the three of us at a December 2008 lunch with a few ideas on the table to 18 members strong with online workshops, monthly meetings packed with craft and support to plans for a conference and a contest! WOW!
Over the past year my oldest got his driving license, was the salutatorian of his class and started college! Next, just when I thought we'd be opening a guitar store in my other son's bedroom, in 2009 we welcomed an electronic keyboard and a drum set into the mix. And this past summer my daughter discovered her love of the stage in her first speaking part in a local community theater group! The hubby and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary this past November, proud of our three kids and the life we've made.
As we welcome in 2010 I look forward to many things, both personally and professionally. I wish you all peace, good health and happiness.
